Au naturel
I came home from work today and decided to mow the lawn. I hate mowing the lawn — and I don’t think hate is too strong a word. It’s sweaty, it’s hot, the exhaust from the mower smells, it makes me sneeze, and it’s just no fun at all. Of course, I suppose it’s one of the only things keeping me from being completely sedentary, this weekly lawn trim. And then there’s the fact that it looks SO nice after it’s done…
So, after I finished mowing the lawn, I decided to take a few pictures of the local flora. I would have tried to get some fauna, too, but they all hopped away.

I had a hard time getting a picture of this gorgeous moss that’s growing on a tree root in the yard… it’s surrounded by grass, but it’s so neat that I wanted to get a shot of it.
There were also some cute flowers all over… I love wildflowers. I think the purple is a violet, but I don’t know what the others are. I’m especially interested in the tri-leafed white flower — if anyone knows what it is, please let me know!

There’s a really cool tree, too, but I don’t know what it is. It’s just coming into leaf, and it’s really neat.

Why can’t it just stay like this?

You’re ahead of me–now I’m mowing TWO lawns. I’m so sore today I almost didn’t go to work!
Very, very nice!! Good straight lines. Not bad for as much as you hate doing it. I love the feeling of a freshly cut lawn in the Spring. Awesome!
Oh, Amy, I’m so sorry you have to mow two lawns… I thank the good lord every time I mow that I have a small yard, and I can’t imagine having to mow twice. AGH!
I have to say, the lawn actually feels really cushiony and springy when I walk on it now — it’s kinda cool. My next door neighbor says frequent cutting is what happens when you have a nice lawn!
