Hair do
I have such a love/hate relationship with my hair. Most days I think it looks like crap on toast, especially with the ridiculous “sideswept” bangs. I want big, loose waves. I want volume. I want the bangs to remain “sideswept” all day long. I want it long enough to wear in pigtails, whether they’re age-appropriate or not. I want wash-and-go, dammit!!
Unfortunately, I have fine hair, and fine hair doesn’t really go with any of those things. In order for me to have volume, I have to keep it really short and wear lots of sticky, icky product. I can blow-dry it straight, but it takes for.ev.er to do, and I don’t have forever in the mornings. But sometimes, for special occasions, I can make an extra effort. And of course, the extra effort always shows. Stupid hair.
This fantabulous look was brought to you by Whoorl, who does a mean job of a picture tutorial on how to a) blow dry your hair and b) sort of curl it with a curling iron (and I swear, if I can do it without burning off my fingers, so can you). It stayed pretty bouncy for several hours, even after I pulled it back in a ponytail. The bangs sort of fizzled, but at home I just clip them back and out of my face, anyway. It took me about an hour to do this (including the frantic run to the laptop to check Whoorl’s instructions, because I couldn’t remember if she said how long to leave the hair on the curling iron, or what kind of product — if any — I should have sprayed on), but I imagine with practice it would take a lot less time. Now, why can’t it look like this all the time, without work?
And also, that Abercrombie sweatshirt is literally one million years old. In the other picture I took, you can totally see how the wrist is completely coming off the sleeve. But it’s my favorite, and I will not part with it, no I won’t. Not until someone (probably my mother) rips it from my cold, dead hands.

Best picture EVER!!!
I have an old sweatshirt David is trying to throw out! He even paid WAY too much for a new sweatshirt to replace it. But that’s NOT the same. It’s about the kind of comfort you get after 15+ years in the wash.
Your hair looks good! I’ve been studying whoorl too to get some ideas… I have the volume but it does nada and I have the dreaded triangle some days to boot.
