Geez-o-pete

I just spent the last hour trying desperately to fix the blog. After upgrading to WordPress 2.5 at the beginning of the month, I figured upgrading to 2.5.1 should be a piece of cake, right? WRONG. So wrong. I kept having this wonky problem with save and publish buttons and lots of flashing, and it took me forever and ever just to write last week’s Friday Foster post. I was not a happy camper. Of course, I work in an IT department and I’m used to logging help desk incidents and having them be resolved, or being the one that says “we can’t duplicate your error, so there’s nothing we can do to fix it”. I’d much rather be on that end. Ultimately I had to delete everything from my server and do a fresh installation, deactivating and reactivating each little thing until I was sure it wasn’t broken anymore. That seems to have fixed it, so now I can go back to my regularly scheduled posting… just in time for Foster Friday.

Foster Friday - Juju

This is Juju.

Juju came to us when her adoptive mom — and dedicated HRS volunteer — was killed in an automobile accident last spring. Juju is a great rabbit despite her hardships. She’s fun, she’s curious, and she loves to interact with her foster mom. It’s a good thing, because as you can see from the picture above, she needs frequent hair cuts to keep her in good shape.

This is Juju after her haircut. She looks and feels better!

Juju, just like all of our other adoptables, is looking for her forever home. She’ll need a special home, because in addition to being 1) a long-haired rabbit and 2) a red-eyed white rabbit, she has also been diagnosed with recurrent upper respiratory infections. It’s manageable, but she’ll need medical care for the rest of her life. Hopefully that life will be long — she’s only a little over 2 years old!

If you are interested in Juju, or any of our other adoptables, please visit our website at www.indianahrs.org. You can also find a list of upcoming adoption and education events in the state of Indiana — stop by and see us!

Sometimes I think I shouldn’t be allowed out of the house. Really.

I wore my date top to work today, with tan trousers and black pumps. One of the “features” of this top is that it has a zipper in the side. It’s one of those mystery zippers that doesn’t go all the way up or down the side — it’s just an opening. I don’t really need to unzip it to get the top on or off, but when I took it off after last wearing it, I unzipped it anyway. But I didn’t remember that this morning when I put it on. I spent the first half of my day today with a 12″ opening in the side of my shirt. I didn’t notice any kind of breeziness going on, but I did think it felt a little looser… I am such a big dork.
